Qualified maintenance and repair personnel are trained for aviation industry in international standards. In Avionics Department training is provided according to the requirements of European Union standards, SHY-66 Aircraft Maintenance Personnel Licence Regulation and SHY-147 Aircraft Maintenance Training Organisations Regulation. Faculty has SHY-147 Aircraft Maintenance Training Organisations Certification of Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Civil Aviation General Directorate.
Students receive practical training in Avionics, Microprocessors, Computer, Basic Electrical Electronics, Electrical Machines, Communication Systems Laboratories and SHY-145 approved aircraft maintenance facilities within the Faculty in addition to the theoretical lessons. The Avionics Department admits students by central placement. One year of English preparatory program is optional. Period of compulsory internship is forty business days. Students have the opportunity to spend the last semester in the industry within a course and internship program in real maintenance environments at İstanbul, Ankara, Antalya and İzmir stations of airlines. Students who meet the necessary conditions can also have a SHY-147 Basic Training Qualification Certificate. Graduates work in Turkish Airlines, private airlines, aircraft maintenance centers and aircraft maintenance, maintenance management and technical departments of other businesses operating in aviation. They can also function in other subsystems of aviation such as airport, passenger terminal as electrical and electronics maintenance personnel.
